EMS Services
Advanced life Support (ALS) level ambulance service
The Orleans Fire Department provides Advanced life Support (ALS) level ambulance service to our community 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.
Our Emergency Medical Services coordinated by Firefighter/Paramedic Leslie Vasconcellos. Leslie’s responsibilities include stocking all medical supplies, scheduling equipment maintenance, EMS training for all staff, researching new and improved technologies in the medical field and all associated administrative responsibilities.
We maintain three ambulances that are certified and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).
These ambulances are equipped with the Lifepak 15 cardiac monitor / defibrillators, advanced airway management equipment, multiple lifesaving medications and a large array of first aid and patient care equipment. Our most recent addition to each ambulance is Lucas, a $15,500 automated CPR device already credited with several life saving assists.
All Orleans firefighters are Paramedics or EMTs. Each receives continuing EMS training regularly in addition to training in other areas such as Motor Vehicle Extraction, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Dive Search and Recovery, Trench rescues, Ice Rescue, and environmental emergencies.
The requests for service we receive are broad and unpredictable, therefore the more quality training our staff receives the better we can assist you during any type of emergency.
