What We Do
The Orleans Fire Department provides Fire and Rescue services for the Town of Orleans, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While it is a combination of services, 80% of the 3000+ calls each year are for Emergency Medical services.

The department has 21 career personnel along with a Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief and full-time Fire Inspector. Our 14 full-time cross-trained Firefighter/ Paramedics and 4 full-time Firefighter/EMTs are supplemented by a six-member call firefighter force.
The Fire & Rescue Department has 13 pieces of apparatus and equipment.
The department responds to not only fire and medical emergencies, but also to:
- Fire alarms
- Carbon monoxide alarms
- Motor vehicle accidents
- Beach/water rescues
- Hazardous material spills
- Technical rescues
- Boating emergencies
- Investigations
- Citizen assists
